Overview

This individual is responsible for planning and facilitating studio and field-based video production work, including filming, editing, sound mixing, color correcting, output and distribution of Edmund Optics’ videos. This person works with other Marketing team members on the development, implementation, maintenance, and analysis of video content. Must be able to creatively plan and translate abstract concepts into effective visual form; work with technical and non-technical staff to organize and implement instructional or other types of video projects; manage filming and editing workflow. This position requires extensive knowledge of studio production, field production, and post-production.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in all aspects of video production process, including brainstorming, storyboarding, shooting, editing, and publishing
  • Film and edit a wide range of videos such as tutorials, product overviews, mini-features, promotional content, multi-cam shoots, internal training videos, trade show demonstrations, and industry events
  • Coordinate video production with Edmund Optics employees
  • Maintain project list, schedule, and deadlines
  • Help manage the Edmund Optics YouTube account and distribution of video content on other social and digital mediums to include translations
  • Troubleshoot video product complications
  • Research solutions and make technical decisions
  • Responsible for the filming of corporate events
  • Monitor performance metrics of published EO videos and communicate these to Marketing team on a regular basis
  • Perform basic repairs on video/photo equipment
  • Stay current with post-production technologies and processes
  • Assist with other marketing projects as needed
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Operate and maintain a variety of video cameras, lighting, and editing equipment
  • Experience with video and photo editing software such as the Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve (Photoshop and After Effects a plus)
  • Ability to edit according to storyboards, scripts, and brand guidelines with minimal oversight
  • Proficient in color correction and audio mixing
  • Familiarity with YouTube and social networking
  • Ability to move, assemble, and dismantle film sets and lighting equipment
  • Effective communication skills – ability to give and receive critical feedback in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in production plan/schedules
  • Highly motivated and energetic
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Some travel may be necessary

Required Education/Experience:

Degree in video production or telecommunications field or equivalent work experience; experience with team projects, activities or other leadership initiatives.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; operate office equipment; work in office setting; assembly of lighting and audio equipment; assembly and dismantling of film sets; lift and move equipment.
