Overview

An EO Assembly Support Associate assists with various tasks to support the assembly process, including ensuring a clean work environment, preparing components, assisting with assembly tasks and packaging. They must utilize work instructions, blue prints, and spec sheets to package opto-mechanical products for stock and shipment under the direction of the Assembly Manager or Group Leader. Assist in managing consumable materials and hardware and assisting in the assembly process by cleaning and preparing components, tools, and materials needed in the manufacturing area. The job also includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

 

  • Packing of lenses and completed assemblies
  • Clean and bag mechanical inventory
  • Visual inspection of individual subcomponents for cosmetic compliance and cleanliness
  • Assist in maintaining production Kan- Ban items
  • Laser engraving of components
  • Application of ink and/or paint to components as required
  • Work with parts lists, drawings, and methods sheets. Work to predetermined standard production rates.
  • Follow written and verbal procedures.
  • Participate in LEAN and 5S+Safety initiatives including light housekeeping of work areas
  • Maintain control of material in assigned work orders.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Functions with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and assembly diagrams as needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Willingness for overtime as needed.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residence required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field OR industry-recognized training or education in a related field. Warehouse, distribution, production, or manufacturing experience helpful.

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasional bending and lifting; ability to stand for long periods of time; work in warehouse environment; may be required to use a ladder to organize or obtain supplies.

Compensation Range Transparency:

At Edmund Optics, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The posted salary range for this role reflects the expected base pay. The actual offer will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, education, work experience, business needs, and geographic location.

 

Salary Range:
$16.00 – $18.00 per hour
